About Us

Learning Through Play

Philosophy

At Little Rainbows Day Nursery, we embrace a philosophy centered around the belief that children learn best through play. Our ethos of learning through play is deeply rooted in the understanding that play is not just a means of entertainment, but a powerful tool for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

We view children as curious explorers and active participants in their learning journey. By providing a rich and stimulating environment filled with age-appropriate activities, resources, and hands-on experiences, we encourage children to engage in meaningful play that ignites their imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

The Little Rainbows Team believes in a good balance of both child-led and adult led learning as parents are the children's first educators, we encourage parents input where possible. This enables each child's unique interests, strengths, and learning styles to be nurtured. During their journey at Little Rainbows we enable children to develop their essential skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and resilience, laying a solid foundation for lifelong learning and success.

At Little Rainbows Day Nursery, we are committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and joyful atmosphere where children can explore, discover, and grow at their own pace, while building lasting memories and friendships along the way.

Health & Safety

At Little Rainbows Day Nursery, we prioritize the health and safety of every child in our care while upholding our ethos of learning through play. Our health and safety policy is designed to create a secure and nurturing environment where children can thrive and explore with confidence. Here are some key components of our health and safety approach:

1. Safe Environment: We aim to make children, parents, staff and volunteers aware of health and safety issues and to minimise the hazards and risks to enable the children to thrive in a healthy and safe environment.

2. Staff Training: We provide a variety of training for our team through our local authorities training program.

3. Hygiene Practices:We promote good hygiene practices among children and staff, including handwashing routines, appropriate sanitation of toys and equipment, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the premises.

4. Allergies and Medical Needs: We work closely with parents and carers to understand and accommodate children's allergies and medical needs, including administering medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.

Little Rainbows Day Nursery endeavours to remain a place where children can learn, play, and grow.
